Day 1: Everest View Flight

Your flight adventure begins early in the morning after checking in at the Kathmandu airport. From here, you’ll spend an hour enjoying up close views of the spectacular Himalayan Mountain range, including the infamous Mount Everest.  This is the most idea way to see this majestic mountain without spending days of difficult trekking. You’ll fly aboard a 1900 Beech Aircraft or the Jetstream 41, both 19 passenger seat aircrafts. As you fly out of the Kathmandu Valley, your first mountain view is Shishapangma (Gosaithan), the 14th highest mountain in the world at 26,289 feet, followed by a series of smaller peaks such as Dorje Lakpa (22,854’), Phurbi Ghyachu (21,775), Choba Bhamare (19,582’), Gauri Shankar (23,406’), and Melungtse (23,035’).  As you continue east, you approach another succession of mountains including Chugimago (20,654’), Numbur (22,816’), Karyolung (21,356’), Cho-Oyu (26,906’), Gyanchungkhang (26,083), and Pumori (23,488). As you begin the approach to Mt. Everest, you pass by Nuptse (25,764). As Mt. Everest comes into view, you’ll be amazed by this massive peak, the tallest natural wonder in the world at 29,029 feet. To actually withness this incredible mountain, known as “Sagarmatha” by the Nepalese, and “Chomolungma” by the Tibetans, up close will be forever etched in your mind.
