Gail Scherer Awarded Certification by Tourism Australia

Ann Arbor, MI, July 17, 2013 — Tourism Australia, in conjunction with the country’s eight State and Territory Tourism Organizations, has awarded Gail Scherer of Journeys International with the title of Certified Aussie Specialist.  Scherer has been a destination specialist at Journeys since 2008, and in that time has traveled throughout Australia.  Her most recent trip was in spring 2013 which contributed to the certification.

Scherer’s in-depth knowledge of Australia equips her to advise customers on all aspects of their adventures down under.  She helps each traveler choose the right itinerary to match their interests and abilities plus, she has the direct experience to be able to recommend unique accommodations and activities off the regular tourist circuit.  “Australia’s diverse landscape and rich natural habitats are simply magnificent. From the desert Outback and Ayers Rock, to tropical Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef, Australia provides a stunning range of cultural and natural surprises,” says Scherer. “This spring I was able to witness the nightly Penguin Parade on Phillip Island which was simply unforgettable,” she remarks. “My next trip has to be Western Australia, to see the stark, empty beauty of Western Australia and the Horizontal Falls on its Kimberley Coast.”

Robin Weber Pollak, President of Journeys International, comments, “We are continually striving to improve our expertise so we can give each traveler the best possible adventure. Gail’s Aussie Specialist certification is a great testament to her insight into this varied destination.”

Journeys international currently offers three distinct itineraries for travelers to Australia, with literally hundreds of ways to customize a trip. Scherer also creates trips in New Zealand, Greece, Turkey, and the Galapagos Islands. Other destination specialists at Journeys can share their own expertise on the company’s 55 additional destinations.
