EPF Nepal and Tibet Flood Relief: Appeal & Updates

As relief efforts continue following the devastating floods along the Nepal-Tibet border, we are hearing directly from our longtime partners and friends on the ground, and we will continue to share updates and photos on this blog page as we receive them so you can see your donations at work.

Narayan Distributes Aid in Nepal

Update: September 8, 2026

On September 4th, our Nepal partner, Narayan, posted an update on Facebook about the distribution of flood relief aid:

“…we reached Darshantar, Nuwakot, one of the areas badly affected by the recent floods, and had the opportunity to help 25 flood-affected families.

We brought food, solar lights, tarps (pal), kitchen supplies, and clothes. Their situation was heartbreaking, but seeing their smiles and gratitude reminded us that even a small helping hand can bring hope when people need it most.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire Journeys International family in the USA for making this possible. Journeys International and EPF have stood beside Nepal for many years, including during the 2015 earthquake, when they supported victims with essential supplies, donations, and later rebuilding projects.

Your support is not just financial help—it is friendship, love, and solidarity with the people of Nepal.

We will never forget it.

My sincere thanks also go to Sitaram, Yubaraj Pandit, and Min Adhikari, who helped me reach these remote flood-affected communities. The road was extremely difficult and dangerous, but they did an amazing job helping us travel safely.

In difficult times, we stand together. Together, we can bring hope.”

Journeys International and EPF will continue to collect donations and distribute them to our partners in Nepal and Tibet to fund direct local relief efforts. Remember, 100% of all donations collected are being wired directly to Narayan and Losal to fund immediate aid to families and students that need it. Please donate via our dedicated page. Journeys & Earth Preservation Fund Continue Appeal

Update: September 2, 2026

Journeys International and the EPF continue to accept donations, with the next round of funding earmarked for our Tibet partner, Losal, to assist with supporting local guides impacted by the floods and their families.

The first round of aid ($3,000 in donations!) has already been distributed and used to purchase local supplies in Nepal, including clothing, shoes, food, and feminine hygiene products (see full list below in our September 1st update). The generous donations of fellow explorers have already made a positive impact in Nepal with Narayan’s help to purchase and distribute aid.

Please don’t forget to donate here if you’d also like to assist our friends Losal & Narayan in their efforts to provide aid to those impacted by the floods. Donations of any amount can make a big impact, providing practical direct aid to fulfill the immediate needs of real people in these regions.

Narayan Travels to the Flood-Affected Area

Update: September 1, 2026

Our longtime partner and friend Narayan is traveling today to one of the flood-affected areas in Nepal, about four to five hours from his home. He is bringing supplies purchased for people affected by the flooding and plans to spend time assessing conditions himself so he can better understand what support will be most useful in the days ahead. So far, Journeys International and EPF have raised $3,000 through the donations of friends and travelers, which was wired directly to Narayan to utilize for supplies for his visit to the flood-affected areas.

Before leaving, Narayan shared this update with us:

“This trip will be a good opportunity for me to see the ground situation firsthand, understand what is really happening, and learn what type of help will be most useful going forward.”

The supplies being delivered today include:

120 sets of clothing
75 pairs of sandals
10 boxes of instant noodles
65 packages of sanitary pads

Narayan purchased supplies for flood relief in Nepal. — Clothing, shoes, and supplies were purchased for those impacted by flooding along the Nepal-Tibet border.

Narayan also shared his thanks with everyone who has contributed through Journeys and EPF in a recent email:

Thank you so much to the entire Journeys family for wiring money for the flood relief program. Your support means a lot.

Narayan will report back after visiting the affected area, and what he sees there will help guide the next phase of support. The second wave of donations collected through Journeys and the EPF will be first distributed to Losal in Tibet to assist impacted guides and their families, and additional donations above and beyond will continue to be distributed to both partners as they come in.

We will continue adding updates here from Narayan in Nepal, Losal in Tibet, and the local teams carrying out this work. We are so grateful to them both for their hard work and dedication to their communities and for their efforts in organizing aid.
