Narayan Kumar Shrestha
Born in the Arun Valley of eastern Nepal, Narayan first met Journeys founder Will Weber when Narayan was a student and Will was a Peace Corps Volunteer high school math and science teacher in a nearby village. As a child Narayan often joined his father in searching for evidence of the first human occupants of the eastern Nepal. Always interested in anthropology Narayan offers a rich perspective on the history and cultures of Nepal. He has a college degree in Nepalese history. He has worked for Journeys since our founding in 1978 and specializes in in-depth explorations of the rich cultures and traditions of the Kathmandu Valley where he currently lives.
Narayan also coordinated Journeys’ travelers generous support for victims of the 2015 Nepal earthquake via the Earth Preservation Fund.
